Lincoln Center Support League

Che Malambo from Argentina presented one live performance for 930 8th grade students at the Lincoln Center on April 13. The Argentina-based company, Che Malambo, excited audiences through precise footwork and rhythmic stomping, drumming of the bombos, and singing and whirling boleadoras (lassos with stones on the end.) Students were exposed to a brand new cultural experience and responded with appreciation and surprise. Fifty-five percent of students said they had never see this kind of performance before and were impressed with the intricate, precise dance of the all-male group.
